For the past few years I've participated in a family history writing group through the Surrey Family Search Centre. Once a month we get together via Zoom to discuss a writing strategy, share our writing, provide encouragement, and ask questions. This year, we decided to put together an anthology to celebrate some of the favourite stories we have shared.
Today, I heard a knock at the door, looked out the window, and saw the UPS man walking back to his truck. The books have arrived! Such a joy to slice open the box and see them for the first time.
Are you interested in telling your family stories? We meet on the 2nd Tuesday of each month and have a few spots available in the morning (0930 Pacific) and evening (1900 Pacific) groups. It's via Zoom, so you can live anywhere. If you're interested in joining, send me a PM and I'll give you more information! We have people writing both personal memoir and researched ancestral stories.
